Bargains, Deals, and Steals in Winston-Salem

Angell Jenkins
Who doesn’t love a good deal?! Winston-Salem is home to numerous local shops with great quality finds. If you like to find a great deal and save your money, here are three consignment shops unique to Winston that you’re sure to love.

Yours Truly

Yours Truly is located in the West End/Downtown Area on Reynolda Rd and has been in business for 30+ years. The store prides itself in having unique finds for a great price! There are apparel options on the entrance floor – women’s clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry and more. There’s enough to catch your eye on the entrance floor alone, but if you venture to the right of the store you’ll find a welcoming staircase leading you to more. The ground floor features furniture and notable home accessories.

Yours Truly has deals on every corner. During my shopping experience I found numerous designer and high quality brands at an amazingly low price. Additionally, you’ll find special deals on specific items. The more you look, the more you’ll find!

Etc. Consignment Shoppe

Etc. Consignment Shoppe is located off of Jonestown Rd, near the many shopping centers on Hanes Mall Blvd. What’s great about Etc. is the amount of great quality inventory the store holds. You can shop online or in-store for men’s, women’s, and kid’s apparel, furniture, books, and more. The shop’s 27th anniversary is coming up on September 13th, and they are celebrating in a big way! On September 9-10th customers can look forward to an additional discount on everything. That’s right, everything is on sale! You can also look forward to this incredible deal – fill up your bag of selective items for $20! Shop til you drop without burning your pockets. That’s what I call a steal!

The Snob Shop

The Snob Shop is located on Burke St. in downtown Winston-Salem. The store features men’s and women’s apparel and accessories, furniture, home decor and more. You can conveniently shop online or in-store. At this consignment shop I love the in-store shopping experience because the price tags not only feature the price, but what the markdown prices are if the item is not sold after a particular date. If you like to “wait it out” to see if the price will drop, the Snob Shop is a great place for you. Just don’t wait too late! I came across some great finds here. This pair of clean white and gold leather Adidas sneakers were on sale for just $40! I also found a great pair of Anne Taylor ankle pants for only $15 (regular retail price for Anne Taylor pants run between $50-$130)! Make sure to catch the shop’s free Christmas parties in December. They stay open a few hours later and provide snacks for everyone to enjoy.

Come Consignment Shopping With Me!

Price markdowns are always attractive, but I wanted to put these stores to the test. I challenged myself to find a complete outfit from the featured shops that has great value. I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Here’s what I found:

ABOVE: 2 black tops found at The Snob Shop and a Banana Republic skirt found at Yours Truly (skirt was priced at $22; typically Banana Republic skirts range between $70-$349 at retail price)

ABOVE: a Kate Spade bag from Yours Truly (priced at $48; Kate Spade tote bags range between $198-$479 at retail price), flats from Etc. Consignment Shoppe ($7), and black heels from The Snob Shop ($18)

Happy Shopping!
