Pilot Mountain is an awesome day (or half-day)’trip from Winston-Salem. Its a short drive from Winston and has strolls and hikes with the most amazing views of the surrounding valley.’

A nature preserve next to Washington Park, close to downtown- with Salem Creek running through it. The goal of the preserve is to connect the community to the environment while also supporting a healthy ecosystem.

Hanging Rock is a’State Park with a campground, picnic areas and a lake for swimming and canoeing.’But go for the hiking trails that have spectacular views’alongside clear streams and waterfalls.

A park located off Meadowlark Rd., adjacent to Meadowlark Elementary and Meadowlark Middle schools. There are slides, playsets and swings for both younger and older children.
